Regulations on international driver's license and reciprocal driver's license.
1. How to apply for a driving permit with a reciprocal international driver's license?
1.1 Paperwork: valid international driver's license, ARC (or ID), passport
1.2 Application form
1.3 One latest photo.
Notes: If you only stay for 30 days, you can driver without a driving permit.
If not, then holding a driving permit is necessary.
2. How to apply for an R.O.C. driver's license with a reciprocal driver's license ?
2.1 Paperwork: valid driver's license, ARC, passport (all original and 1 copy) .
2.2 One qualified application form with physical examination report completed by any one governmental hospital, public local health center or certified private hospital or clinic. (The qualified application form is valid for 1 year)
2.3 3 latest photos (the same copy)
2.4 A piece of Chinese translation made by any legal translation company is required, if your license is not printed in English.
2.5 Fee: 200 NT dollars.
Note:
1. Your foreign driver's license must be authenticated by the embassy or consulate of the Republic of China, or Representative Office, Liaison Office of other institute duly authorized by the ROC Ministry of Affairs.
2. The application must be made in one year since your last arrival date.
