Information for foreigners holding valid international driving licenses from reciprocating countries:
You can use your international driving license to drive in Taiwan for thirty days without applying for a ROC driving license. If you are staying for more than thirty days, you should apply for an international driving license permit for driving in Taiwan.
Requirements:
(1) Valid international driving license (if you are applying with a US international driving license, you must also
submit a valid local US driving license)
(2) Passport
(3) One recent photo, black and white or color, front view of face without hat (size 2 -inch) and taken within the past
six months.
NOTES:
The maximum period of validity for a driving permit of international driving license is one year. If the period of validity of the original international driving license of A.R.C is less than one year, the expiration date of the driving permit of international driving license will be the same date of whichever expires first.
